Security matters
Tír na nÓg has a coded entrance system. Parents are informed of the codes to dial their child’s room. The creche is protected by CCTV also.All rooms, corridors, entrance hall and outdoor play areas are monitored and recorded. Any person other than a parent or guardian collecting a child must be notified to Management in writing. Secure photo ID will be requested if the person collecting the child is not known to us.
Creche outings and trips to the park or Leisure centre are always arrranged with the consent of parents. Secure staff ratios are in place and well planned procedures are always adherred to.
Health
Tír na nÓg relies on the partnership of care with parents in relation to all aspects of the children’s well being particularly health.
Parents notify us if their child has been unwell the previous evening or during the night. Little ones are very resilient and bounce back very quickly and in spite of being unwell in the evening are often fine for crèche the next day.This exchange of information is very helpful and management and staff are always at the other end of the phone for advice and support.
We do have a very strict cross infection prevention policy and we appreciate parent’s co operation with regard to implementing this policy in the crèche.
If a child become unwell while at crèche we will always contact parents. If management feel a child is too unwell to attend the crèche, or if his/her condition is deteriorating or possibly contagious parents will be asked to collect their child as soon as possible. Cross infection is thus kept to a minimum with stringent hygiene standards maintained at Tír na nÓg at all times.
There is a pharmacy and medical centre located beside the crèche.
